Masonry, render and exterior woodwork, prepared and coated with systems suited to the substrate and the season. Exterior work is weather-dependent and we will postpone rather than coat a damp or cold surface.
Hanging and stripping of papers and wall coverings, including the lining and sizing that decides whether the result lasts. Walls are assessed first; a poor substrate will show through anything hung over it.
Filling, caulking, sanding, stopping and repairs to plaster and woodwork before decoration (SIC 43390). Where paintwork may contain lead, it is prepared wet and not dry-sanded or burned off.
Taping, jointing and finishing of plasterboard to a decorator’s standard, ready for decoration. Finishing only — we do not carry out structural work, and any structural alteration is for other trades.
Preparation and finishing of doors, frames, skirtings, architraves and stairs, including knotting, priming and undercoating. Finishing of joinery, not manufacture or installation of it.
Gas work, electrical installation work, asbestos removal, structural alterations, damp-proofing and roofing. Each is a different trade with its own registration or licence. We will say so on the day rather than take the job and improvise.
